Translating City Style to the Wine Country
With Sonoma being just an hour drive from San Francisco, our clients approached us to bring our Revere Look to their personal wine country getaway. This wasn't a typical home staging for a home sale - rather, they wanted us to stage their home so they could entertain family and guests in turnkey, all-inclusive package. We relished the challenge!
Unlike homes in San Francisco, this home sprawled across a completely flat half acre lot. When first purchased, this had been a flip with blank white wall canvases throughout the home. We were asked to bring inspiration and to elevate this home with a sophisticated yet calming presence.
Walking in, you are immediately drawn into the large great room - a beautiful entertainment space that included the living room, dining room and kitchen. And where you would normally find a wall with art adorning the side of such a room, instead you're greeted by an expansive view into the half acre lot. The home was teeming with nature as a result, and so we wanted to bring elements of those indoors!
Drawing on the farming traditions of Sonoma County, we instilled elements of leather and wood to recreate the link to nature and the horses that we would see on the sloping green fields through Highway 116. The leather strapped chairs recreated saddles of old, meanwhile the wood egg shaped chairs in the living room were a tongue in cheek nod to the farms that are found throughout the north bay.
Turning the corner from the living room into the north wing, you're surprised with a bonus media room that straddled the other view of the pool. We dressed the cozy room with a stunning blue that enveloped all sides of the room, ceiling included. Known for our paint recommendations, we wanted to make this room a bold show stopping surprise for guests that would discover this room for the first time.
Overall we had a tremendous amount of fun transforming this white-walled home into one that was wrapped in charisma. This was an exciting challenge because we were able to translate our signature San Francisco look into an inviting wine country home that could nestle itself into the surroundings without being out of place. Cheers!
